We wish all of our students, staff and families the very best for the upcoming March Break. Please enjoy the time together.
When we return, we look forward to several events at our school:
- Recognizing World Down Syndrome Day
- Our rescheduled Family Literacy Night on March 23rd.
Please see the attached flyer for more information.
We also look forward to recognizing Autism Awareness Day on April 1st including our community walk and our Jump Rope for Heart Event on April 12, 2016. More information on those events will be coming shortly.
All the best for the break,
To our community,
Thank you for your overwhelming support of our recent Wall of Honour initiative and of our Remembrance Day ceremony today at our school. For our Wall of Honour, we had many wonderful submissions of community members that we are able to recognize and are able to remember their contributions to Canada. We will be able to use these pages again next year in addition to new contributions in October 2016. Thank you for your support of our learning environment at our school.
A special thanks as well to our organizers of the Remembrance Day assembly this morning. We appreciate the participation of members from the Mount Albert Royal Canadian Legion and the Governor General’s Horse Guards. Our students and staff also contributed to our assembly in wonderful ways. Through poetry, song, writing and images, we reflected on the importance of today. We also took time to think about how we as a school can demonstrate peace through our words and through our actions.
Thank you again for your continued support of our school.
The Remembrance Day Committee
Our staff are developing a Cold Weather Box for clothing in case any students forget items for outdoor recesses. Our Cold Weather Box will be located in the office. If your child has forgotten their snowpants, hat or mitts, their teacher will send them to the office to borrow from the Box. Each piece they borrow will have “RMPS” written in it so you know where it came from when it comes home with them at the end of the day to be washed and sent back the next day. All pieces of clothing in there will be clean when lent out. We ask that you send them back clean.
We have a few pieces to start our “collection” off with, but would LOVE any donations of the following:
– size 4-8 snowpants
– winter hats
– mittens or gloves
– extra socks
– extra pants (in case of “accidents”)
Thanks for your support with this and all the wonderful things we do here at RMPS!
Special thanks to Ms. Coutanche for starting this initiative.
