Keeping our Kiss and Ride moving

I appreciate a conversation I had with a parent the other day about our parking lot traffic. Hats off to all the families who walk each day to school which reduces overall traffic and promotes healthy living. We realise some families need to drive their children to school each day. As such, the volume of traffic has been an ongoing concern for our school community. As previously communicated, there are some important steps we can all take to make our parking lot safer. I also thank our School Council who have supported our work with our parking lot each year.

One area I would like us to focus on in the coming weeks is ensuring our Kiss and Ride continues to move in the morning. Presently, we are still having cars stop and park in the Kiss and Ride Lane. If you would like to walk your child to their entry area please park in the parking lot or on the street. We have a supervisor on duty in the morning who can also assist with ensuring students get to their entry areas. When the Kiss and Ride stalls, it causes a backlog of cars further back. Also, we are cautious around cars idling and their impact on our young learners lungs.

We thank everyone for their support. We anticipate with the winter weather coming, the volume of traffic will only increase so now is the time to ensure we have good habits in place.

  1. May I suggest that the teachers prepare the students for this as well
