On April 29, 2015, we celebrated our official opening with students, staff and community. It was a wonderful afternoon that allowed us to celebrate our story. It is hard to believe that we have now been opened for 8 months. Wednesday’s celebration was the culmination of a lot of hard work by many people.
The theme of story ran throughout the afternoon as we shared a storybook written by students, staff and family members. A beautiful new display in our foyer also highlighted work from our twitter feed this year mirrored with inspirational quotes.
Our gym and hallways were filled with work from our students compiled throughout the year. Here our FDK team celebrates with a collaborative tree designed by the whole team.
Throughout our gym, panels of student work adorned the walls to also highlight our story through the arts this year. We really love the creativity displayed on Wednesday and throughout this school year.
We thank our partner Scholastic Canada for their kind donations to our students: a copy of Robert Munsch’s The Sandcastle Contest! Finally we appreciate our media partners from York Region working with us to highlight the day.
The last page of our book is blank so we can now write our story to come. Here’s to continued success and to our continuing story.
Onward,
Mr. Collins
